Before I tell you about our wonderful adventure at Goat Day, let me give you a little background information.
Goat Day is a community wide event always held on the 3rd Saturday in October in conjunction with the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement’s Pioneer Days at Sam Atkins Park. The event features activities for the whole family including arts and crafts, chicken and greased pig chases, live demonstrations, historical reenactments, live entertainment, kids games, a parade and much more.
The entry fee is $5 per person, with children under 3 admitted for free.
Now this was my first Goat Day experience, and I will tell you, this will be an annual event that I will be attending every year from now on! Of the 3 festivals I have attended so far this year, this one is probably my favorite.
Some of the Festival highlights are:
Pony Rides, Bouncy Games, Train Rides, Face Painting, Hayrides, Mechanical Bull, Rock Climbing Wall, not to mention all the wonderful food and craft booths for you to wonder through. You are sure to find something that you just have to get!
Let me know in the comments what festivals you are planning on visiting this weekend. This weekend, I think we will be skipping the festivals and will be heading to a Mud Bogg, so look out for the muddy post in the upcoming week.
