This festival has been going on since 1999. This annual festival is Havana’s signature event and a great way to celebrate the beautiful fall season. The downtown streets are lined with art, crafts, and food vendors selling their products. The town comes alive in a carnival like atmosphere full of activities for the entire family, activities such as pony rides, obstacle courses, a costume contest for children of all ages and adults as well as a doggie costume contest, face painting, magicians, pumpkin decorating and so much more. Local merchants show their creativity with beautiful displays of pumpkins and fall decor, as well as many handmade items. You can purchase that perfect pumpkin, just for you, at our famous pumpkin patch before you leave. The festival starts off with a Pancake Breakfast at 8 am. And it is only $2 per person for admission for adults and $1 for children.
It started out as we entered the festival area to pay for our admission, I only had 3 single dollar bills, so I went to pull out a $20 bill to pay for my hubby, Conner & myself, but they wouldn't take it, they did not charge for Conner, and were going to take just $3 for my husband & I to enter, but luckily hubby had some singles, so we made sure to pay full price. But it is the little things like that, that make you want to come back each year to support your local small cities, like Havana.
Conner had so much fun, he played a game and won a goody bag, he rode the train, and played in the bounce house. I enjoyed looking at all the homemade craft items, as I just love any type of craft!
Let me know in the comments what festivals you are planning on visiting this weekend. And hopefully we will be attending another cool festival this weekend to share our experience with you.
