Caposaldo blends a handcrafted approach to winemaking with cutting-edge quality standards and techniques, so that it stands as a benchmark of iconic Italian wines.
The fruit for each Caposaldo wine is hand harvested from prime growing areas in the classic Italian wine regions of Tuscany, the Veneto and Lombardy. Modern scientific techniques are used in the cellar, including cold temperature stainless steel fermentations and judicious use of oak, resulting in a pure expression of each wine type.
The Caposaldo Name
The name Caposaldo means "benchmark" in Italian. Caposaldo wines are the benchmark for quality in Italian winemaking.
Caposaldo can also mean "strength" which is signified by the powerful horse that we use for our logo.
Caposaldo Moscato comes from the cool, maritime climate of Provincia di Pavia in northern Italy's Lombardy region. Here the 20-year-old vines benefit from the mineral rich soils in the low-yielding hillside vineyards. Grapes are handpicked, and after a temperature-controlled fermentation the wine undergoes a natural second fermentation, resulting in a fine, persistent effervescence.
Bright golden yellow in color, this wine delivers an assertive bouquet with exotic fruit and spice aromas and a fresh, vivacious and highly polished palate.
Enjoy with fresh fruits, fruit pies and tarts, or on its own
Now with all the holiday parties, it is good to have some wine on hand. I don't usually drink wine, but this holiday season is special, as I will be getting married on Christmas Eve. So after the small wedding, we will be coming home and celebrating with our friends and family, so the Caposaldo Moscato will be flowing.
I love the taste, and I am a picky wine drinker. And the bottle is a gorgeous bright blue. I can't wait to see what our friends and family think of it.
